Rosie Sugden website design

Rosie Sugden website design

Rosie Sugden, Melrose
After completing the logo design for Rosie Sugden, Scottish Borders Website Design moved onto the design and build of her new online shop. As with the logo, Rosie had a very specific look and feel in mind for the site design, and the way in which she wanted to promote and sell her luxurious cashmere accessories online. The clean, crisp and stylish site launched today, and the feedback from Rosie? “I am so happy with it all and it has been very easy working with you so thank you very much for everything you have done.”

JES Property Management website design

JES Property Management, Portugal
As a well established and trusted property management company in the Algarve, the JES brand and colour scheme are well known in the area (featuring in stationary, presentations, leaflets, staff uniforms and company vehicles). Scottish Borders Website Design worked with the established identity in order to create a new look for the site design that also ensured consistency of the brand online. Feedback from the JES team in the sunny Algarve: “Many, many thanks for getting the JES website up and running, it looks great”.

TALC logo design

TALC logo design

TALC, St Albans
TALC (Teaching-Aids at Low Cost) didn’t have a professional identity, but they did have an icon that had been used in various guises over the years. Scottish Borders Website Design drew from the original icon and created a new, crisp, professional logo to help provide the charity with a consistent and trustworthy identity.

As a fashion designer Rosie knew exactly what she wanted for her new logo design: simplicity, style and elegance, all brought together by precise font selection and the most delicate modifications to letter and line spacing. Rosie’s feedback on font selection: “I love them”.

Water on the leaf

I noticed after the rain last night that a leaf on one of the hosta plants in the garden was holding onto numerous droplets of water. The rain drops were held in what looked like suspended animation across an entire leaf, each one an inverted reflection of the garden.

Your House Historian website design

Your House Historian website design

Your House Historian, Berwick
Often B2C (business to customer) websites need to be professional, formal and trustworthy, but sometimes a brief comes along that allows for a far more artistic and creative website design. The service provided by Your House Historian relates to historical research, archives, old photos, documents, deeds and maps. To help paint that picture, the site design itself is based on an old leather desk with all the related papers scattered in front of the site visitor (even to the point that the end of the desk is visible when you scroll down). This type of site design is very tactile and really provides a clear visual representation of the service offered; something which is all important when trying to quickly grab and retain the attention of a potential new client.

Edward Campbell logo design

Edward Campbell logo design

Edward Campbell, Hawick
Edward is free spirited self taught artist as well as an author and published musician based near Hawick. The icon within the logo is based on Edward’s “Umbrella man” painting, but it was important for Scottish Borders Website Design to get the overall tone and feel of this very personal logo just right. The feedback was excellent.

Splintered sunlight

I was lucky enough to capture this photo of sunlight spilling through a small copse of Scots pine trees whilst out walking by the Tweed. The mist hanging in the air was just thick enough to defuse the light, capture the rays of the sun and heighten the shadows cast by the nearest trees.

Free communications icons to download

This is an alternative set of flat solid green communications icons that are free to download and use. This set includes a traditional telephone, mouse, mobile (both sending and receiving), email/letter, download, RSS/wifi and satellite icons in green on a white tile background. These icons don’t make use of any gradient fills so if you need to tweak the colour by altering the hue you should be able to make them match your exact requirements. As the icons are on a white background they can also be isolated and used without the background tile. Check out the free download category for more free icons.

To use any of these free communication icons simply right click on the icon set and select “Save image as…” from the on screen menu and the high quality image will download to your computer.
